Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen first gained the international's consideration after they starred on Full House. After dominating almost about each marketplace prior to their 18th birthday, Mary-Kate and Ashley took a much-needed destroy from the entertainment industry in 2004. After they graduated from highschool, the girls went to university at NYU in New York City. Their independent journey would cause them to creating their own style logo, The Row, in 2006.
In 2021, the emblem celebrated its 15th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, the Olsen Twins gave a rare interview to i-D where they unfolded about the emblem and its historical past.

"I think in the beginning it was really a project for us," stated Ashley. "So yes, it started with the T-shirt and then six other pieces fell out of that: tank tops, cardigans, leggings… But it was really about perfecting the fit and perfecting the fabric and it really was kind of just a passion project. It took a year and a half, because there really was no end date or goal in mind as far as turning it into a business, I’d say."
"It had to be easy. It had to be comfortable on all bodies," Mary-Kate defined. "It really had to have all the elements that we continue to put into our projects and design. The fabrics had to be luxurious and perfect and, hopefully, have longevity. The items were really about perfecting and simplifying the details."
Cole Sprouse Said He Was Pushed Into Child Acting Because His Mother Was 'Irresponsible' With Money
Growing up, Cole Sprouse gave the impression with twin brother Dylan in Friends, Big Daddy, and The Suite Life. He would proceed acting well into maturity in Riverdale. His childhood was once spent in front of the camera and now, Cole is opening up about why that was the case.
When speaking to the Call Her Daddy podcast in 2023, Cole unfolded about his mother, whom he said driven him into performing because of the family's monetary issues. However, much of the money he and his brother made used to be spent.
"Both my brother and I went through a lengthy court battle at about 10, and custody was stripped from my mother and given to my father," he stated, explaining that his father sought after them to be "normal kids."
He added, "I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this.…When my father was given forced custody, we had pretty much lost everything from the youngest parts of our career. That would be Friends and Big Daddy."

"My mother was an incredibly wonderful and artistic woman, but she was financially the most irresponsible woman ever," Cole persisted. "I think it was the consequence of some alchemy of addiction and mental instability, and it’s probably the greatest wound in my life."
Cole went on to mention that his father reevaluated their profession after the custody battle. His father used it so that you could lend a hand his sons regain their financial freedom and add some steadiness to their chaotic lives.
"By the time my brother and I got to the Disney Channel, we were good. It was a huge boon to us," Cole stated. "It was in many ways a lifesaving show. It provided us with an amount of stability and consistency and routine that really was needed for my brother and I at the time."
Mary-Kate And Ashley Signed The Sprouse Twins To Their Company, Dualstar Entertainment, In 2005
Before the Sprouse Twins was Disney darlings, they signed with the Olsen Twins' corporate, Dualstar Entertainment, when they have been 13. The deal was meant to incorporate a variety of merchandise including motion pictures, CDs, surfboards, snowboards, and apparel.
"This isn’t just about clothing," said former manager Josh Werkman. "It’s about lifestyle, it’s about products . . . One of the big reasons for the launch of this platform is that there’s nothing for little boys out there."
By the time the Olsen Twins were in high school, they have been media moguls whose powers extended to each department of the entertainment business. This deal would definitely have given the Sprouse Twins a possibility at following in Mary-Kate and Ashley's footsteps.
"This deal that we just closed for them really represents one of the biggest deals in Hollywood right now because we just signed a deal with Mary-Kate and Ashley’s company Dualstar for licensing and, basically, Mary-Kate and Ashley are at a point where they’re getting older (they’re in college) and they’re looking to kind of move up in different directions for their careers," Werkman said. "The Sprouse twins are now stepping in."
Years later, in 2010, Mary-Kate told Marie Claire that whilst she doesn't regret her early life, she felt like a "little monkey performer."
"I look at old photos of me, and I don't feel connected to them at all," she mentioned. "I would never wish my upbringing on anyone…but I wouldn't take it back for the world."
When reflecting on his occupation as a kid big name on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Cole expressed some similar sentiments.
"I don’t regret it at all," Cole mentioned. "I know that there’s definitely resentment, there’s definitely some things I have to work through, but no. If I were given the same choice again, I’d probably do it again."
