Sofia debuted her new romance in October, after she was see going on multiple diner dates with the orthopedic surgeon. She went Instagram official with him earlier this month after revealing he was caring for her post-surgery.

Sofia and Joe finalized their divorce earlier this month 8 months after separating. Other than custody of their dog (which Joe eventually won), the former couple didn’t seem to disagree on their divorce settlement, dividing their assets as per the terms of their pre-up.

Sofia Vergara appeared visibly uncomfortable during an interview alongside Alexia Nepola.While their divorce settlement may be fresh, both Joe and Sofia moved on quickly. Joe was already living with his new partner, Caitlin O’Connor, in February. They were connected in September 2023, only a month before the paparazzi caught up to Joe and Sofia.
“They’re going to get engaged soon and then start trying for kids. Marriage is definitely in their future,” a source told Us Weekly of Caitlin and Joe’s future plans.
Sofia May Feel Pressured To Get Married Before Joe
The recent report from OK! Magazine hinted there may be a pressure for Sofia to get married before Joe, saying, “It will be interesting to see who makes it to the altar first!” referring to Sofia and Joe’s post-divorce romances.
Sofia has confirmed reports that she and Joe split because they disagreed over having kids. The Magic Mike actor reportedly changed his mind about wanting a family, though at the age of 51 (and already with a grown-up son), Sofia didn’t want kids.
“Well, I’m newly divorced from my second husband, who I was with for 10 years,” she told Spanish publication El Pais. “My marriage broke up because my husband was younger. He wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom.”
“I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore,” she continued. “I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother.”
However, during the same interview, Sofia said she’s open to finding love again, which reinforces the reports that she could see herself walking down the aisle to Dr. Saliman.
“So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children,” she shared. “I’m almost in menopause, it’s the natural way of things. When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I’ll give it back to him and go on with my life. That’s what I have to do.”
