Are Al Roker And Mattt Lauer Still Friends?

At the age of 66, Al Roker is still putting in the paintings, it sort of feels like he's been around eternally. We can't say the similar for his former buddy, Matt Lauer, who was basically ghosted by everyone and somebody following the allegations surrounding his conduct behind the scenes.

Roker has gone through a good occupation and it kind of feels like weatherman used to be made for his attributes. However, along The Whalebone Mag, Roker admitted he stumbled upon the profession strictly as a result of he sought after to keep his options open and check out new issues.

"I think you should be interested in all things, not just one thing. When I was in school, I just took a bunch of different courses. I majored in communications and took some classes in meteorology, not because I wanted to be a TV weatherman. I had no interest in television weather. I just took it because it seemed like an interesting class."

We can safely say things worked out in his desire, and he's been able to forge somewhat the occupation, in spite of some health headaches prior to now.

This leads us to our next query, who is he surrounded by way of in this day and age when the cameras aren't rolling? At one point, he used to be extraordinarily close to his Today co-host Matt Lauer. However, following the scandal, enthusiasts have not heard a lot and are wondering if the two are on speaking terms this present day.

Roker Was Stunned By The Allegations

Similar to the fans and such a lot of of his peers, shock was the initial sentiment.

Roker set free a temporary observation once the allegations surfaced, "It's a — really, a sad, sad day," Roker said shakily. "I mean, [there are] some horrific allegations, claims and charges. Again, as you said, we really feel bad for Brooke Nevils. Our heart goes out to her, it took a lot of courage for her to do that. It's just a sad, sad story."

Al would make some other remark shortly after, making mention that Lauer was only focused on the well-being of his family, particularly his children.

"His goal and his focus is on making sure his kids are doing well. And I know he’s focused on that, and I wish him the best and them as well. It’s a new school year, (and) everybody’s getting settled in their school routine."

Things were given quiet after the remark and it used to be evident, Roker wanted to steer clear of that form of press.

However, it sort of feels like the two quietly got again in touch in recent years. At least, according to the rumor mill.

Sources Say They Reconnected

We're going by means of the rumor mill, in keeping with OK Magazine, it's mentioned that Lauer and Roker reopened their friendship, following Al's health headaches. Of route, this wasn't made public, given Lauer's deficient symbol.

"When people get sick, they rethink life. Al is scared, and life is short. He misses Matt and doesn’t have many real friends. Matt has been there for him over the last few days in ways other so-called TV friends haven’t."

No doubt given their connection from the previous, beginning things up again may no longer have been too difficult. Nonetheless, either side have stored quiet and are taking their careers in opposite directions.

Lauer Went Off-The-Grid But Roker Did Not

We do not hear much from Matt Lauer these days. He's like spending most of his time on the down low, alongside circle of relatives while repairing his symbol.

As for Roker, the scandal and association with Matt did not deter his career one bit. He's as busy as ever prior to, from time to time it kind of feels like there's two Roker's.

He prospers on his busy time table, "I don’t have a five-year plan or anything like that. I just leave myself open to stuff and things. A couple of years ago, I did Broadway. I would have never thought of doing that. It wasn’t something on my radar, no pun intended, but it kind of popped up and said, “Why not? What’s the worst that can happen.”

Roker also suggested that perhaps opening a restaurant might be in his future plans as well.

"I wish to at some point do a cafe, however, particularly right now, it’s fraught with issues. Even in good occasions, restaurants are a crapshoot. So, I don’t know that I’m in reality able for that. But down the street, I wouldn’t mind doing a restaurant."

Great to see the Today Show legend still keeping active. We can't say the same for Lauer, however.
